As the Originator, Developer and Primary Proponent of Ca$hcard, I have been known to “play it” a bit high & wide - and with a bit of an Edge in the World of Banking which is, by name and reputation, generally conservative.
In 30-some years of career banking, I’ve seen the American and Worldwide BankCard Industry grow and change substantially many times.
This same thirty years has, in all modesty, given me insight into the Industry possessed by very few. Such insight includes the actual day-to-day profit-and-loss nature of consumer-level revolving credit as interfaced to each institution’s deposit-to-loan ratios and relationship to the Federal Reserve System.
Speaking of that Edge - I am personally one to bring it to any situation ... be that a certain degree of insight, a cutting perspective or an anxiousness to advocate and build change.
You can ask both my friends and detractors on the Board of the North American Bank Card Association (NABCA; The-NABCA-Site.com) and they will tell you: I am not one to sit idly by with my hands folded and gather dust.
While I could have been voted President of NABCA some time back out of cursory regard for my advancing age - and might have enjoyed the title and the stature - I also realized that having such a title could easily have placed me under a weighty yoke of conformism and standard expectation. Because I possessed the seedling of Ca$hcard, I did not want to slow the speed of its advent or its subsequent growth into the tremendous business and multi-faceted profit avenue I knew it could become. So I sacrificed organizational presidential prestige for the opportunity to create and build something special and original within, frankly, a bureaucratically-related public-trust sort of business community where true innovation and change, by nature, seem to be, and can’t help sometimes be, just infrequent visitors. The result was something which so fully energized me by just its sheer power and business force that it enabled me to easily mostly forget about prestigious appointments or, for that matter, most health concerns.
Although I wound up as a member of the Board of a national organization, I’ve never lost my Midwestern agricultural roots or my regard for the Individual. While it’s easy for an organization which captains a membership with trillion$ in assets to lose site of the Common Citizen, I’ve tried always to remain in touch with typical John-n-Jane average consumers.
Summarily stated: The concluding results of our NABCA-mandated three-year limited-market testing indicated and proved that Ca$hcard is the result of vision on the part of myself and certain close-by forward-thinkers. The Bankcard Industry needed injections of fresh products, services, perspectives and revenue - and it is Ca$hcard which is supplying much of that right now!
Expansion!
Because Ca$hcard has completed and fulfilled its obligations to the Board of NABCA, it is time to move forward with expansion!
Expansion is now underway.
